Arne Bang
Danish, 1901 - 1983
Danish artist Arne Bang was born in 1901. He trained at the Royal Academy as a sculptor and started his own studio in 1926 with Carl Halier. He worked with Holmegaard Glasvaerk where his other brother Jacob Bang was artistic director. Arne begain experimenting with stoneware with the idea to produce high-quality stoneware that could be purchased by ordinary people and not just expensive works. This mass production plan suceeded and some claim he was producing 10k pieces per year. Arne Bang ceramics lighting sculpture vases and decorative objects remain popular today. Arne Bang ceramics
