Brian Froud
British, 1947
Brian Froud (born 1947) is a British illustrator, author, and fantasy artist. He is best known for his distinctive illustrations of fairies and other magical creatures, as well as his collaborations with author and wife, Wendy Froud.
Froud attended the Maidstone College of Art in Kent, England, where he studied graphic design and illustration. After graduation, he worked as a book illustrator, creating artwork for a variety of children's books and fantasy novels.
Froud gained widespread recognition in the 1970s and 80s for his illustrations of fairies and other mythical creatures, which he created using a combination of watercolors, pencils, and ink. He also worked on several films, including "The Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth," where he was responsible for creating the designs for the film's creatures and characters.
