Born in 1951 in Brussels, Belgium, I studied graphic advertising, design, etching, and painting. Each of these disciplines has helped me build the path to my professional and personal endeavors.
In 1971 in Brussels, I was apprenticing during the day in the prestigious advertising firm J. Walter Thompson while working at night at a metal sculptor studio where we developed the concept of creating etched metal furniture. Later I opened my own atelier, producing many tables, lamps, sculptures, and murals for designers in Europe. Many of the early creations can be found today in fine stores specialized in the 1970-80 era in New York, Paris, London.
Pursuing my dream, I moved to the United States in 1980 and opened my art studio and atelier in Southern California, working with significant hospitality design firms on luxurious projects. As a result, many creations that include custom-etched murals, entry doors, elevator doors, metal sculptures, and of course, furniture can be seen today in high-end hotels and resorts worldwide.
After more than 40 years of creating and producing artworks, paintings, and furniture for hospitality spaces with high traffic energy, I felt that a more personal note and closer contact with the client were missing from my equation. It was now time to add a dimension found into the “home-space” concept of residential design.
What I enjoy in creating furniture is designing and producing an object that is functional and radiates feelings and emotions, an entity that one wants to connect with, live with, and cherish.
In this spirit, I am sharing my work and passion on a collection of furniture where pieces or accessories will sometimes be produced in limited edition or simply as one-of-a-kind. My mission is to imbue this collection the love, experience, and knowledge acquired through my journey in the world of design and beauty for more than 50 years.
