Drexel (Drexel Heritage Furniture)

American
American furniture manufacturer Drexel was founded in 1903 by the Huffman family in North Carolina. The Huffman's invested in a town and named it Drexel after a railroad family from Philadelphia. The location was close to the Norfolk Southern Railroad-which was ideal for furniture distribution. During the early 20th century Drexel bedroom suites sets and branched into other furniture designs. Following World War II, Drexel merged with Heritage Furniture to become known as Drexel Heritage Furniture Company. Vintage Drexel Heritage Furniture remains popular today.
