Felix Akulw is a distinguished fine artist whose journey in the arts began with a Foundation Course at Cardiff College of Art in 1972. He then pursued a Fine Art degree at Lanchester Polytechnic, where he graduated with First Class Honours and Commendation. Continuing his academic excellence, Felix earned his Master’s Degree from the Royal College of Art in 1978, during which he held a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings at the Lanchester Polytechnic Gallery. He also participated in group shows at notable venues, including the Conway Hall Gallery and the Courtauld Institute Gallery in London. His artistic achievements were recognized with the Herbert Read Memorial Prize from the Royal College of Art.
From 1978 to 1986, Felix lived and worked in London, creating in studios at Butlers Wharf, Beck Road, and Acme Robinson Road Studios. He also spent time painting and drawing in the picturesque landscapes of Cornwall, Pembrokeshire, and the Algarve. His works from this period were showcased in various exhibitions, including Open Studio shows at Robinson Road, mixed exhibitions at The Mask Gallery in Bermondsey, and significant shows at the Showroom Gallery in Bethnal Green and the Advanced Graphics Gallery in Tooley Street, London. Felix Akulw continues to inspire with his profound connection to nature and artistic expression.
