Flor Garduño
Mexican, 1957
Flor Garduño began her career as an assistant to Manuel Álvarez Bravo, who many revere as Latin America’s greatest photographer. Though he had a profound influence on her, she developed her own distinctive personal style. Her photographs conjure poetic images drawn from nature, dreams and the female form. Her images are sometimes sparse, as she is a surrealist, but they are always elegant and suggestive, with a mystical air.
