François Corbeau
American
François Corbeau creates eye-catching pieces that entice viewers to walk across the room and touch them. A self-taught sculptor, his witty and highly detailed eye continually observes the object itself within the space it occupies, blurring the line not only of form and function, but also of art work and art owner. He spends many hours reaching his level of precision, and in 1984 was awarded the Prize of the National Commission for Unesco; a year later he was presented with Florence Gould Award for Sculpture. He continues to be internationally exhibited and collaborates with many artists.
