Michael Azgour

Michael Azgour is a contemporary artist whose work explores the complex space between perception and reality. His paintings are constructed through multiple layers of paint, transitioning seamlessly between expressive figuration and geometric abstraction. Azgour’s dynamic approach invites viewers to question how they engage with visual information, constantly shifting between recognizability and abstraction to challenge their understanding of the world.
Azgour’s award-winning work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States, Europe, and Asia. His solo exhibitions include shows at the Art Museum of Los Gatos, CA, Hohmann Fine Art in Palm Desert, CA, and upcoming exhibitions at Brennecke Fine Arts in Berlin and the Fresno Art Museum. His work has also been showcased at major art fairs such as SCOPE NYC (solo exhibition), Art Market San Francisco, and the Los Angeles Art Show.
Azgour’s paintings are part of esteemed public and private collections around the world, including Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University and the Showtime Television Network in New York. He has exhibited alongside some of the most respected artists of his generation and regularly speaks about his creative process and ideas. Notably, he delivered a lecture at TEDx Krakow. Michael also teaches drawing and painting at Stanford University, where he continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of artists.
