Nada Debs is a Lebanese designer based in Beirut, whose work spans product and furniture design to one-off commissions in craft, art, fashion, and interiors. Her creations are unified by her unique ability to distill culture and craftsmanship, producing pieces of deep emotional resonance. Growing up in Japan and studying design at the Rhode Island School of Design, Nada has traveled the world, absorbing influences from diverse cultures and weaving them into her work. Each piece reflects the richness of her experiences, capturing the power of the human hand to tell stories that touch the heart. She calls this approach handmade and heartmade.
Nada believes in design’s universal power to transcend time and borders, touching us on a primal level. Her work is not just about form and function but about evoking feeling and connecting to human stories. She values the connection to places, people, and our own identity within the larger world. Craft, to her, is a means of communication that surpasses geography, language, and culture, and she uses it to tell tactile stories with materials—sometimes pure and surprising, other times intriguingly combined. Geometry plays an essential role in her designs, representing complex philosophies through simple yet beautiful forms.
Nada leads a talented team of 20 designers in Gemmayze, working collaboratively across disciplines to engage the right suppliers and craftsmen, ensuring that every client’s needs are not just met but exceeded. The studio offers a range of services, including annual collections of furniture and products sold online and stocked in key global retailers, bespoke commissions, collaborations with global manufacturers, full interior design services, and custom artwork, installations, and jewelry commissions.
