Otto Brauer

Otto Brauer (1918-1968) was a Danish glass designer who worked for the Holmegaard glass company from 1937 until his death in 1968. He is best known for his iconic "Gulvvase" (floor vase) design, which has become a classic of Danish modern design.
Brauer's glass designs were characterized by their clean, simple lines and modernist aesthetic. He often worked with brightly colored glass and was particularly skilled at creating interesting and unusual shapes.
In addition to his work as a designer, Brauer was also a respected educator and mentor. He taught at the Danish School of Decorative Art and was instrumental in training a new generation of glass designers.
