William Parker founded Parker and Perry in 1803, and the company quickly flourished. By 1817, Parker's son had established a formal partnership with the Perry family, culminating in the merger of their businesses into Perry & Co. in 1820. The firm attracted the patronage of royalty and high society, including notable figures like George, Prince of Wales, and William Beckford. In 1835, George Perry proudly highlighted their prestigious commissions, which included works for the late King and the new Palace of King William IV, as a mark of their craftsmanship's exceptional quality.
Among the firm's most distinguished projects were those for the Dukes of Devonshire. This involved creating stunning chandeliers for Chatsworth around 1782-83 and for Devonshire House in London during the 1820s and 1830s.
