q|co is a Colorado-based design and manufacturing house specializing in the production of high-end furniture, lighting and object designs. We are a design/make studio that specializes in elevated design and craft. Many of our designs are inspired by the mountains, rivers, and canyons of the Southwest, and pair clean lines with unexpected forms to evoke the feeling of being in the wilderness. We specialize in bending wood and regularly push materials’ limits to see what can be achieved through the bending process, striving to produce sleek designs that are really different than what others are producing and execute them with beautiful craftsmanship.
As a company, we aspire to: create beautiful, enduring design without depleting the earth’s resources; infuse the built environment with a sense of wonder and curiosity often experienced in natural scapes; foster sustainable careers for local artists, designers, craftsmen and manufacturers; and employ strategic product/product life-cycle design to promote social and environmental well-being.
Jason McCloskey, Founder | Designer – Jason studied traditional woodworking before earning an MFA in Furniture Design from RISD. He has more than twenty years of experience in furniture design, complimented by 15+ years working in outdoor education. His portfolio includes complex bent laminations that highlight the potential fluidity of wood.
Trystin Sova, Founder | Designer – Trystin is interested in design as a tool to advance social and environmental well-being. Her studies include human geographies, photojournalism, industrial design and traditional woodworking. Her designs employ pattern and unexpected geometries to invite both curiosity and stillness.
