RICHARD FISHMAN

American
Richard Fishman is an American artist known for his sculpture and installations that explore the relationship between art and science, and the intersection of natural and industrial materials. He was born in 1930 in New York City, and studied at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.

Fishman's work often incorporates unconventional materials such as metal, glass, and industrial plastics, as well as found objects like shells and bones. He is particularly interested in the way that these materials interact with light, and many of his works are designed to create intricate patterns of light and shadow.

Fishman's sculptures and installations have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, and he has received numerous awards and grants for his contributions to the field of contemporary art. In addition to his work as an artist, Fishman has also taught at several universities, including the Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
