Salvino Marsura
Italian
Salvino Marsura (1922-2016) was an Italian architect and designer known for his work in the field of industrial design. He was born in Venice, Italy, and studied architecture at the University of Venice.
After graduating, Marsura worked for several years as an architect, but eventually turned to industrial design, where he quickly made a name for himself. He was particularly well-known for his work in lighting design, and was one of the first designers to use fluorescent lights in his work.
Marsura's designs were characterized by their simple, elegant lines and their use of new materials such as plastics and metals. He was also known for his innovative use of color, and his ability to create lighting that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
In addition to his work in industrial design, Marsura was also an accomplished architect, and designed a number of important buildings in Italy and abroad. One of his most famous works is the Villa Marsura, which he designed for himself and his family in the 1960s.
Despite his many accomplishments, Marsura remained relatively unknown outside of Italy for much of his career. However, in recent years, there has been a renewed interest in his work, and his designs are now highly sought-after by collectors and design enthusiasts around the world.
