Samantha Millington is an accomplished artist whose journey began in the fashion industry. After earning a 2:1 degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, she launched her career as a designer, which took her across the globe, including work in India, China, and the Philippines. Following the birth of her first son, Samantha transitioned to freelance work, specializing in prints and embroideries for the fashion sector.
Her passion for teaching led her to instruct Life Drawing and Fashion Illustration at both Salford University and Manchester University, where she contributed to the Fashion Degree course. Additionally, she served as a Principal Facilitator at Zion Arts, providing art education to diverse groups, including working with excluded youth. Through innovative methods, such as using graffiti to engage young adults, she helped them reconnect with education through creative expression.
In 2011, Samantha moved to Cornwall to focus on her personal artistic development, investing in high-quality materials to elevate her work. Her current artistic practice centers on figurative abstraction, allowing her to explore new perspectives and create larger pieces.
Samantha continues to share her expertise as a lecturer in Fashion Illustration, Life Drawing, and Computer Aided Design, while also engaging in community-based mural projects and leading curriculum enrichment initiatives that integrate art into educational settings.
