Sven Larsson

Swedish
Sven Larsson (1929-2017) was a Swedish furniture designer and interior architect. He studied at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm and worked for several architecture firms before founding his own design studio in 1957.

Larsson's furniture designs were characterized by their functional and practical qualities, as well as their simple, understated aesthetic. He was particularly known for his work with metal, and many of his designs featured metal frames and accents.

One of Larsson's most famous designs is the "Lilla Åland" chair, which he created in 1957. The chair's sleek, minimalist form was inspired by the landscape and architecture of the Åland Islands, an archipelago in the Baltic Sea.

Larsson also designed furniture for several Swedish manufacturers, including IKEA and Stålprodukter AB, and his work was exhibited in museums and galleries throughout Europe. He was a key figure in the Scandinavian modern design movement, and his furniture designs continue to be highly regarded for their timeless, functional qualities.
