Universal Genève was founded in Le Locle, Switzerland, in 1894 under the name Universal Watch. Over the years, the brand evolved and was renamed Universal Genève in the 1930s. It gained acclaim for its chronographs, notably the Compax line, cementing its reputation as a premier watchmaker.
