Verner Panton
Danish, 1926 - 1998
Verner Panton was a Danish designer who played a significant role in the development of modern furniture design during the 1960s and 1970s. He was born on February 13, 1926, in Gamtofte, Denmark, and died on September 5, 1998, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Panton's work often featured bright colors and bold geometric shapes, and he experimented with a variety of materials, including plastic, fiberglass, and metal. Throughout his career, Panton designed a wide range of furniture, lighting, and other objects, including the Fun lamp, the Heart Cone Chair, and the S Chair. His designs continue to be popular today and are highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts alike.
