Broyhill Furniture

American, 1926 - 2014
Broyhill Furniture Industries, Inc. emerged as a prominent American manufacturer specializing in medium-priced wood and upholstered household furniture. Established in the 1920s in North Carolina, the company experienced steady growth under its founder and his family members. One of Broyhill's most iconic contributions to furniture design is the mid-century modern Brasilia line, which continues to resonate with collectors and enthusiasts.

As American consumer preferences evolved during the 1950s, Broyhill pivoted from its original moderately priced offerings and introduced the upscale Broyhill Premier line in 1957. This strategic move was supported by the acquisition of Lenoir Chair Company, which played a crucial role in the creation of the Premier line. By the 1960s, with the Premier line firmly established, Broyhill branded its remaining products under "Lenoir House," ensuring a comprehensive market presence.

Today, Broyhill Furniture, along with its distinct brands like Broyhill Brasilia, Broyhill Premier, and Lenoir House, enjoys enduring popularity among vintage furniture aficionados. These brands not only reflect Broyhill's legacy of quality craftsmanship but also continue to be sought after for their timeless appeal and historical significance in American furniture design.
