He and his wife, Sybil, founded David Yurman in 1980 with the goal of creating timeless, distinctive jewelry. Yurman is known for combining traditional precious metals and gemstones with modern materials such as titanium and stainless steel, creating a unique style. His designs have been featured at events such as the Academy Awards and in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Town & Country. Yurman has received numerous accolades for his designs, including induction into the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2003. He continues to lead the brand as Creative Director and Chairman, inspiring the designs of future collections.
