Cesare Leonardi & Franca Stagi
Italian
Cesare Leonardi (1935‑2021) and Franca Stagi (1937‑2008) were Italian architects and designers who operated a studio in Modena from 1963 to 1983. They made significant contributions to industrial design through innovative fibreglass furniture such as the “Nastro” and “Dondolo” chairs, now held in the permanent collections of major institutions. From the early 1970s their focus shifted toward architecture and landscape projects, exploring the relationship between built form and nature. Their visionary work spanned furniture, urban planning, parks and public architecture, leaving a lasting influence on post‑war Italian design and architecture.
