Seth Thomas
American, 1785 - 1859
Seth Thomas Clock Company was a United States clockmaker and watchmaker that was founded in 1813 by Seth Thomas in Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut (now Thomaston). The company was known for producing high-quality clocks and timepieces, and it played a significant role in the development of the American clock industry.
Throughout its history, Seth Thomas Clock Company produced a wide range of clocks, including mantel clocks, wall clocks, and grandfather clocks. The company's designs were known for their durability, precision, and elegant styling.
Some of the most famous Seth Thomas clocks include the Regulator No. 2, which was first produced in 1860 and became a popular timekeeping standard for railroads and other organizations, and the Seth Thomas Tower Clock, which is still in operation in many public buildings throughout the United States.
Today, while the Seth Thomas Clock Company is no longer in operation, its clocks remain popular among collectors and antique enthusiasts.
