The first and only English edition of this title and the most comprehensive volume on Russia. Poland and Finland are included as well as excursions to Tehran and Peking via the Trans-Siberian Railway.
This book was divided into eight sections covering 1. Poland and Warsaw; 2. Western Russia (Baltic Provinces); 3. St Petersburg and Environs; 4. Grand Duchy of Finland; 5. Central and Northern Russia; 6. Southern Russia; 7. The Caucasus; 8. Teheran, Railways in Asiatic Russia. These sections were designed to be detached and carried separately. This copy has the rare publisher's slip which informs the owner about detaching the sections.
First edition. lxiv, 590pp, 40 maps and 78 plans, very short closed tear to 'General Map of Russia; publisher's red cloth gilt; an excellent copy.
