A very pretty pair of Lewis Carroll's Alice books. Known as the 'miniature edition', it is prized for its combination of convenient size and readability.
Miniature Edition'; 2 vols; small 8vo illustrations throughout by Tenniel, blue polished calf gilt by Riviere, covers ruled in gilt, spines in six compartments, red and olive labels to second and fourth, others richly gilt, raised bands, all edges gilt, 'looking Glass' with gilt chess queen to upper cover, a fine set. -
