An attractive miniature Qur'an (under 10cm in height) copied in 1640 in Safavid Persia by the calligrapher Amin al-Din Kashani.

Single volume, illuminated manuscript on paper, in Arabic, complete, 95 x 65 mm.; single column, 21 lines naskh per page, surah headings in red against gilt banners, opening two leaves with gilt decorated head-pieces and borders, double-ruled in gilt and black, catch-words, some smudges and light finger soiling; later hand-painted lacquered boards, rebacked and resewn, later endpapers inserted, a good copy.
