Beloved and well regarded from its inception and truly one of the most attractive books ever published, copies that remain in such condition, as in this instance, are very uncommon. A superb copy of a great book.

First edition, first impression, first issue (with 'you' for your on page 13, line 3. ); 8vo; frontispiece and 15 full-page illustrations by Sidney Paget; publisher's red cloth, decoration and titles to upper board in black and gold and to spine gilt, contemporary ownership inscription to the half title page, spray of foxing early and late, a few very minor flecks to upper board but withal a very nice copy and quite uncommon thus.
