A very rare and attractive Indian cookery book compiled anonymously by 'a thirty-five years' resident' and printed in Calcutta, containing recipes and cooking methods on rice, curries, Indian pickles, preserves and even perfumes and cosmetics among other contents.
WorldCat records only two copies in North America (Bryn Mawr College and LA public library) with no copies in Europe or the British Isles.
Description
Single volume, complete, 123 pp. with 56pp. publisher's catalogue at end, printed with interfoliated ruled paper (for manuscript notes and additions), lightly browned else very crisp, manuscript gift inscription to front free endpaper; original brown pictorial cloth, very lightly soiled and corners slightly bumped, a very good copy.
