Description
An Exquisite French Empire Ormolu and Cut-Crystal Clock, c. 1815, attributed to Baccarat.
Made from the finest quality mercury gilding ormolu, this clock depicts an allegory seated on a rock, cased with carved precious cut-glass panels in the early 1800’s.
Clocks like this are extremely rare and aren’t seen so often. This is definitely an amazing clock to own for collectors, and curators of fine precious objects.
21″ high x 14″ wide x 6″ deep
The clock is in very good condition. All glass panels are in mint condition. There is a minor, unnoticeable, repair to the back of the clock where the male figure is seated, which can barley be seen. We cannot guarantee the time-keeping of the clock as we sell our clocks for decorative purposes. This clock can definitely be made to work and keep time by a local clock maker. -
