A spectacular antique Spanish Colonial figure of Madonna, Mexico circa 19th century. Constructed in plaster with carved and gilt wood accent. Realistic in style, and of the highest artistic expression and craftsmanship, this statue features Madonna dressed in voluminous dress detailed with parcel-gilt and poly-chrome surface, her arms outstretched, her expression regal and serene; with glass eyes and a metal halo, on a parcel-gilt plinth. A stunning piece of the colonial art.
