This is a wood and nickel double horse sculpture circa 1930’s by Hagenauer . It is signed on the base with the Hagenauer monogram, Austria and Rena, indicating this piece was made by Hagenauer for the Rena Rosenthal Gallery in New York. The beautiful streamlined details in this carved wood and nickel over bronze sculpture create the feeling of horses running neck in neck.
