Tramp Art Photo Frame With Gilt Elements & Velvet , Austria ca. 1890
-
Description
Extrordinary Tramp Art photo frame from the period in Austria around 1890. Elaborately hand carved out of bass this antique rustic photo frame impresses with an unusual doubled frame: the beautiful inner section shows the so-called "notch cut" technique covered by golden accents. The outter frame captivates with a beautiful, differently carved design and the beige, golden/ dark blue velvet inserts build a fantastic contrast and makes this photo frame a truly exceptional piece. Still holding the original mouth blown glass plate, this one of a kind rural photo frame can hold photos up to a maximum size of 2.8" x 4.4", which can be inserted/ changed fast and easy by simply sliding it in/out through the backside (see pic#4). A very decorative piece of an early 20th century Tramp Art frame coming in great original condition (even the original photo is still there). By the way, these kind of frames look gorgeous combined in different sizes and do a nice collage on one wall - so don´t forget to also check out our other beautiful Tramp Art frames.
