A beautifully patinated 19th century European stone statue depicting the Farnese Hercules, which is an ancient statue of Hercules made by Glykon in the early third century AD – one of the most famous sculptures from antiquity. A muscular yet weary Hercules leans on his club which has the skin of the Nemean lion draped over it, he holds the golden apples stolen from Hesperides hidden behind his back, in his right hand.
