A tender 19th century English statue of the goddess Aphrodite–or her equivalent,Venus–holding a dove to symbolize love and faith. Cast from an unknown original design in a reconstituted stone, the contrapposto angle of her body and evidence of white pigment gives the feeling of Classical sculpture from Greco-Roman antiquity.
