English Turn of the Century Glazed Pottery Bird Bath with Carved Flowers, 1900s
-
Description
An English turn of the century glazed pottery bird bath from the early 20th century, with octagonal top, carved flowers, tapered pedestal and stepped base. Created in England at the Turn of the Century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th, this pottery bird bath showcases elegant lines perfectly complimented by a neutral toned glaze coating. The top, presenting an octagonal shape, is curved on the inside to receive the water in which the birds will come to bathe or drink. It is accented on the border with a perfect rhythm of delicately carved flowers. The pedestal on which it is raised echoes the octagonal design, and tapers down to come and rest on a stepped base. It showcases a weathered patina with some loss to the carvings. With its graceful lines and soft color, this English Turn of the Century glazed pottery bird bath circa 1900 will make for a lovely addition to any garden!
