French Belle Époque bronze and stained glass doors

Each door: Height 210cm, width 41cm (82cm when together), depth 10cm
This magnificent pair of doors is crafted from bronze and stained glass. Each door contains arched-top stained-glass windows, the windows featuring trellis leaded decoration and a central cartouche containing a monogram that perhaps reads XR, or Chi-Rho, a Christogram. The bronze panels below are likewise set with this monogram. The quality of the craftsmanship throughout is exceptional, demonstrating skilled bronze casting and finishing as well as masterful stained-glass production.
The bronze of each door is signed ‘M A. MARTEAU ARCHITECTES 1896’. -
