French Mid-Century Red Marble Column
-
Description
Fine exhibition column made in 1940 of fine French workmanship.
The column is made entirely of burgundy and gray marble.
The base has a beautiful round shape on which stands a second smaller round base supporting a beautiful round frieze. This gives life to the shaft of the column, cylindrical in shape, smooth with simply wonderful colors: burgundy, white, gray, black.
After the structure goes tight and then widens on the capital with a raised circle, which holds the final round-shaped support base.
The column is very beautiful and is suitable for houses as grand as it is. -
