Regency octagonal shaped chinoiserie papier-mâché planter or jardiniere with concave pierced sides, decorated with gilded pagodas, figures, flowers and trees on a black background. The interior is painted green. The base is reverse scalloped.

There is wear to the paint at the top edges, some seam separation at the seams, two holes in the lining which are hardly noticeable.
