A mid century tapered planter by Willy Guhl. Two planters are available, sold separately. Varying patina between the two shows lovely signs of weathering, paint residue and mossy patches. One planter exhibits a "15/5/59" date stamp. Sourced in Northern Italy.
Willy Guhl (1915–2004) was a pioneering Swiss designer celebrated for his innovative work with materials and commitment to functional, minimalist design. Best known for his use of cement fiber, particularly in his iconic Loop Chair, Guhl’s work broke new ground in outdoor furniture design, combining durability with sleek, modern forms. Throughout his career, he experimented with sustainable, industrial materials, making significant contributions to mid-century modern design in Europe.
Guhl’s work has been featured in numerous important design exhibitions and is part of permanent collections in leading museums such as the Museum of Design Zurich.
