Description
After the Plains Indians were forced onto Reservations in the late 19th century, the men were able to honor memories of earlier days by reenacting battle scenes and events in traveling Old West Shows and rodeos. They often wore fancy clothing during these shows. This pair of gauntlets was most likely made for this purpose. The dirt on the inside of the palm and fingers is evidence of use.
