1920s Eastern Star Masonic Illuminated Reverse Painting on Glass Temple Sign
-
Description
Rare tin sign with a reverse painting on glass ritual star for the Eastern Star of the Masonic Temple.
I believe the sign dates from the 1920s.
Comprised of 15 separate compartmented back lights controlled by a switch box of 15 individual light switches which during Mason ceremonies allowed specific images on the sign to be illuminated .
The sign is mounted on a removable metal pipe stand that rolls on wooden wheels
It would be fairly easy to turn this into a wall hung art work.
The sign overall is in good vintage condition with minor age issues. The most pronounced is image #11. -
