Description
19th Century gilt and Bohemian glass vase
Bohemian, 19th Century
Height 104cm, diameter 31cm
This beautiful vase is an apt demonstration of why Bohemian glass is so highly regarded in the present day: this is a classy, sleek antique piece, ideal for the contemporary interior. It is an unusually tall vase, measuring over one metre in height, and therefore can be used as a stunning centrepiece as well as for holding floral bouquets.
The vase is parcel-gilt, or partially gilded around its clear glass exterior. The quality and detailing of the gilding is superb, and shows intricate, scrolling floral and foliate patterns as well as hanging floral garlands throughout the vase's exterior. The vase itself is formed as a tall, slender cone on a circular spreading base. -
