A Delightful 17th Century Spanish Polychrome Carving of A Child

Description
Originally from a larger piece, evidenced by the vacant mortise to the rear, the costume bandolier and stance of the subject may indicate a depiction of a boy soldier. The child wears a green coat emblazoned with a stylized four-leaf clover. The meaning of this remains obscure but tantalizingly could indicate an Irish connection.
