Description
A Meiji period moriage cloisonné box and cover with two carp, the rectangular box worked in coloured enamels in standard, moriage (raised) and musen (wireless) cloisonné with one grey and one orange carp rising to the surface of rippling water, reserved against a pale bluish ground, with silver rims and a silk brocade lining. Japanese, circa 1880.
