This Brazilian modern sculpture was designed by Abraham Palatinik and made in the 1960s. It is a part of the Artemis collection that features hundreds of different animals, each with sleek, flat silhouettes. The goldfish sculpture is made with resin and the original label is on bottom. It is a beautiful decorative object that can be styled into any home and is also in excellent condition.
Abraham Palatnik (2 February 1928 – 9 May 2020) was a Brazilian abstract artist and inventor whose innovations include kinechromatic art. Palatnik was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, and lived in Israel from 1932 to 1947 before settling in Rio de Janeiro, where he spent most of his adult life. He is considered a pioneer of technological art in Brazil for his early use of mechanical systems and light. He exhibited some of his works in the First Biennial of São Paulo in 1951. Two works by Palatnik are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
