Pair of Midcentury Modern sterling silver low candlesticks. Made by Alphonse La Paglia (d. 1953) in New Jersey. Each: Tapering and scalloped socket with wide and flat rim and scalloped base. Open shaft comprising 4 quadrilateral volute scrolls; pendant buds with graduated beading and centrally-mounted bud at base. Domed foot with alternating bead and ring border. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (Georg Jensen Inc. USA) stamps and no. 120. Very good condition.
