Set of 4 Midcentury Modern sterling silver matchbox holders. Made by Alphonse La Paglia (d. 1953) in New Jersey. Rectangular; sides have cutout tubes for strike. Applied to top is seed-spilling bud enclosed in leafing tendril. A Jensen-inspired motif wrought in sculptural relief. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 200. Very good condition.
