Description
Alvino Bagni bull, ceramic, orange, red, yellow and brown, signed. Medium scale chunky bull sculpture glazed in bold orange red with splashes of dark yellow and brown. Bagni (1919-2009) was a Florence based ceramicist whose work was distributed by Raymor of New York. Signed with impressed mark (Italy) on its right front hoof. Please note a 3/4" Firing crack on the bull's chest (photo 15).
Alvino Bagni's studio in Florence, along with Bitossi, supplied the majority of the ceramics imported to the United States by Raymor of New York.
