Description
A late Regency toleware oval coal scuttle and cover decorated with wide gilded bands painted with black stylized acanthus leaves on a striking mottled red and black tortoise shell-like background, the gilded handles and feet with Norse head masks, the shaped lid has a gilded rococo-shaped handle. The interior has a black tole liner with handles.
