Condition: Very good vintage condition.
Modernist chess set by Austin COX for ALCOA. Designed in 1962. Solid aluminum chess pieces with fitted walnut box and sliding blue acrylic cover. Original purple and blue felt chess game board with aluminum trim. The set can be wall-mounted for display. All of the game pieces are marked, 1962 Austin Enterprises. The game pieces are precision-cut of solid aluminum and are differentiated by having either a natural finish or black anodized sides. Overall in very good vintage condition. Walnut Display Box: 6" H x 30.75" W x 2.25" D Chessboard: 1" H x 19" W x 19" D.
Very minor wear overall. A couple of minor spots on the felt game board. A few minor scratches on the blue acrylic cover. -
