Eliza Doolittle is a fictional character and the protagonist of George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion and its 1956 musical adaptation, My Fair Lady. Eliza is a Cockney flower girl who goes to Professor Henry Higgins asking for elocution lessons after a chance meeting in Covent Garden.
